Howell Nature Center offers the largest wildlife rehabilitation clinic in Michigan and has a helpline that can be contacted for assistance in dealing with wild animals. Camp Wonder offers day, overnight and excursion camps geared towards teaching children to take care of one another and the world we live in. Summer camp open houses are also scheduled to give a preview of what the summer camp has to offer. Howell Nature Center also offers specialized programs for school educational trips that are focused on experiential learning. Finally, it offers a unique venue to spend time and celebrate with family and friends.

It boasts of a number of diverse building styles which include Queen Anne, Greek Revival, and art deco among others. It also features over 40 specialty retailers and different dining options. Diamonds Steak House is located in downtown it is a highly visited restaurant by many the have bought a home in Howell. There is also a Dairy Queen located downtown Howell and it is also home to the Sunday Farmer's Market.
